LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Secretary Information Nadeem Afzal Chan strongly condemned the Indian government’s decision to ban party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s "X" (formerly Twitter) account, calling it a violation of democratic values. He asserted that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is not only the representative voice of Pakistan’s youth but is also recognized globally as an ambassador for peace and justice. Chan stated that attempts to silence his voice raise serious questions about India’s commitment to democracy.

Nadeem Afzal Chan accused the Indian government of proving its fear of truth and reason by suspending Bilawal Bhutto’s account. He said, "The Modi government must understand that suppressing voices does not eliminate ideas; instead, it strengthens them." He emphasized that Chairman Bilawal has consistently and courageously advocated for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris, condemned the oppression of Muslims in India, and opposed New Delhi’s aggressive policies in the region.

Chan described the ban as an "attack on a narrative that resists hatred," adding that while the restriction may apply to one platform, ideologies and messages cannot be stifled. He further stated, "Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s voice is, in fact, the collective voice of the Pakistani people, which cannot be silenced anywhere in the world."

Criticizing the Indian government, Chan argued that this move not only disrespects democratic principles but also contradicts India’s own constitutional claims. He pointed out, "A country that claims to be a secular democracy is now resorting to fascist tactics to crush dissent." He reaffirmed that "Bilawal Bhutto’s voice could not be silenced in the past, will not be silenced today, and will never be silenced in the future."

The PPP leader stressed the importance of dialogue and engagement to reduce regional tensions, stating that Pakistan has always been a proponent of peace and stability. However, he noted that India’s unilateral actions remain a major obstacle in this path.
