Karachi (Correspondent):  Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, and the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Central Secretary of Information, Nadeem Afzal Chan, held a significant meeting with members of the Pakistan Media Club in Karachi. The discussion centered on the provincial political landscape, administrative affairs, and the media’s role in society. Governor Kundi shared his perspectives on the province’s development, measures to ensure peace and stability, and enhancing collaboration with the federal government. He stated, “Media is a vital pillar of democracy, and we will work alongside the media to promote transparency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”  

 

PPP’s Nadeem Afzal Chan emphasized the importance of media freedom and safeguarding journalists’ rights, reiterating the party’s commitment to strengthening ties with media nationwide. He described media cooperation in Karachi and other regions as indispensable to governmental progress.  

 

The meeting was also attended by Sindh Assembly member Mohammad Asif Khan and Deputy President of the People’s Lawyers Forum Karachi Division, Advocate Tariq Mehmood Khattak. In their addresses to media representatives, they underscored the significance of provincial and national unity and stressed the need for collaboration with the media to address shared challenges.  

 

Participants concluded the session by discussing media autonomy and the challenges confronting journalistic institutions. The gathering was hailed as a crucial step toward reinforcing government-media relations. All parties agreed on the necessity of sustained dialogue and cooperation to achieve common objectives.
