Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Reviews Free Housing Scheme for Flood Victims, Listens to Public Issues in Ghulam Mustafa Laghari

Mirpurkhas: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the village of Ghulam Mustafa Laghari in Taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad, where he inspected houses being constructed for flood victims under the Sindh Peoples Housing Scheme. Local residents warmly welcomed him during the visit.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reviewed the ongoing construction of houses in the village and met with a woman from the Kohli community, who informed him that trees had been planted outside each home in the names of children. Additionally, flood-affected villagers had collectively purchased two and a half acres of land and constructed residential units on a self-help basis, details of which were briefed to him during the visit.

During his tour, Chairman Bilawal engaged with local women, one of whom shared her experience, stating that when her husband threatened to throw her out of the house after an argument, she asserted her ownership of the home and refused to leave. Another woman recounted how, after being displaced by the floods, men in the family left for other cities in search of work, but Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s announcement of free housing gave them new hope.

The scheme, aimed at providing permanent residences to flood-affected families, is currently underway in various areas, including Ghulam Mustafa Laghari. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari praised the initiative and reiterated his commitment to resolving public issues.
