LAHORE: Former MPA and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sania Kamran has underscored that the PPP remains the true party of workers and will steadfastly protect labourers’ rights. In her message on the occasion of International Labour Day, she paid tribute to the PPP’s founding leaders, Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, noting their historic efforts to advance labour reforms and correct injustices faced by workers.

“Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always stood shoulder to shoulder with the working class in their struggle for fair wages and dignified conditions,” Sania Kamran said. She added that under PPP governments, landmark initiatives such as the Benazir Employees’ Stock Option Scheme transformed labourers into genuine partners in state-owned enterprises, setting a precedent for inclusive economic participation.

Highlighting the severity of today’s economic challenges, Sania Kamran observed, “Due to the worst inflation in recent memory, the working class is enduring severe economic constraints.” She pledged that, when the PPP returns to power, resolving the problems of labourers will be a top priority. “Our party remains firmly committed to the manifesto of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, which places workers’ welfare at its core,” she affirmed.

Sania Kamran also pointed to the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying, “Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and mother, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will continue to champion the rights of workers.” She urged Pakistan’s labour force to rally behind Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, ensuring that their collective voice secures meaningful solutions and the full realization of their rights.

With this resolute message, the PPP reiterates its legacy as the workers’ party and renews its pledge to safeguard the interests of labourers across Pakistan.
