Governor Kundi Inaugurates Freedom Gate Prosperity in Islamabad, Highlights Role of Civil Society
ISLAMABAD – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi attended the inauguration ceremony of the Freedom Gate Prosperity Institution at Freedom Gate in Islamabad on Monday as the chief guest, formally launching the organization. The event was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Anthony Naveed, former caretaker provincial minister Adnan Jalil, Freedom Gate Prosperity CEO Muhammad Anwar, Newtac Gilmanah Chairperson Bilal, and other prominent social figures.
In his opening remarks, CEO Muhammad Anwar outlined the institution’s objectives and extended heartfelt gratitude to Governor Kundi for his participation. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to fostering community-driven development and addressing socio-economic challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kundi congratulated the institution’s management on its launch, calling it a “significant step forward.” He underscored the pivotal role of civil society organizations in bridging developmental gaps across Pakistan. “Freedom Gate Prosperity is carrying forward the 25-year legacy of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, which has laid a strong foundation for progressive initiatives,” he stated.
The governor highlighted pressing national challenges, including climate change, inequality, and digital exclusion, stressing the urgency of community-led, people-centered solutions. He praised the institution’s focus on community empowerment, environmental sustainability, youth engagement, and expanding access to digital resources.
Governor Kundi urged the organization to strengthen collaborations with the government, private sector, educational institutions, media, and NGOs to amplify its impact. “Partnerships are essential to scale positive outcomes and address systemic issues effectively,” he added.
The inauguration marked a renewed push for civil society-led initiatives in Pakistan, aligning with global frameworks to tackle local challenges through innovation and inclusive policies.
