Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan met Iranian Consul General Mehran Mohadfar at Iranian Consulate 

Lahore: Meeting between Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Iranian Consul General Mehran Mohadfar was held at the Iranian Consulate. During the meeting, trade of corn, meat, wheat and other agricultural commodities between the two countries were discussed .

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that Pakistan and Iran have deep brotherly relations due to their common religion and culture. He said that Pakistan and Iran need to increase bilateral cooperation in every sector, especially trade, tourism, culture and education. The Punjab Governor said that there should be conferences of chambers, between Pakistan and Iran to boost trade between the two countries . The Punjab Governor said that export of meat to Iran from slaughterhouses built on the Pakistani border will have a profound impact on the Pakistani economy. He said that effective steps are being taken to increase meat production so that animal husbandry can also benefit profitably. The Governor of Punjab said that due to the good policies of the current government, the confidence of foreign investors in investing in Pakistan has been restored. He said that providing a conducive and peaceful environment to foreign investors is the top priority of the current government. The Governor of Punjab further said that the result of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s successful foreign ministry visits have started to yield results.

 

Iranian Consul General Mehran Mohadfar said that Iran is committed to further promoting bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors. He said that Iran can benefit from vast opportunities to import meat from Pakistan.

In addition, Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Khawaja Shahid Mahmood, Senior News Producer of Pakistan Television Lahore Centre. Expressing sympathy to the bereaved family, the Governor of Punjab prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased a place in His mercy and give the bereaved family the courage to bear this loss with patience and fortitude. The Governor of Punjab said that the services of the deceased in the field of journalism will always be remembered.
