Tesla - Launch on April 10 at the Bujairi Terrace in Riyadh.
The electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, led by CEO Elon Musk, will launch on April 10 at the Bujairi Terrace in Riyadh.
Tesla is preparing to unveil its electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia on April 10 at the Bujairi Terrace in Riyadh.
This launch is part of the Kingdom's broader effort to decrease its reliance on oil revenues while advancing its economic diversification strategy through the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
However, Tesla has not yet specified when its vehicles will be available for sale in the country.
The timing of Tesla’s entry is notable as the company is currently facing difficulties, reporting a 42.6% decline in its sales in Europe for 2025, despite an overall rise in demand for electric vehicles in that market.
Additionally, protests have emerged in the U.S. against Tesla following Elon Musk’s appointment to lead the Department of Government Efficiency.
The Saudi government is actively fostering the EV industry. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is a major investor in Lucid Group, a burgeoning electric vehicle manufacturer aiming to challenge Tesla globally.
Earlier this year, Lucid became the first automotive company to participate in Saudi Arabia's "Made in Saudi" initiative.
In addition to supporting established firms, Saudi Arabia is also advancing its own electric vehicle brand, Ceer.
Announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in November 2022, Ceer is expected to contribute approximately SR30 billion (around $7.9 billion) to the Kingdom’s economy by 2034.
Earlier this year, Ceer secured several agreements worth SR5.5 billion ahead of its model launch scheduled for 2026.
These initiatives highlight Saudi Arabia’s commitment to building a sustainable automotive industry while decreasing its economic dependency on oil.
