In a remarkable display of compassion and unity, Allah Walay Trust (AWT) organized the biggest Iftar Dastarkhawan in Lahore, serving nearly 4,000 people in a single evening. The event not only highlighted the trust’s commitment to providing food and essential services to those in need but also celebrated the spirit of togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.

Founded in 2010, Allah Walay Trust is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to addressing food, health, and nutrition challenges in Pakistan. With an overarching vision to provide nutritional food to marginalized communities, AWT has steadily grown from its initial operations in Lahore to now serving communities in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Gilgit Baltistan. The organization’s mission—to offer highly nutritious, low-cost, and localized food—has been the driving force behind its various impactful initiatives, including:

  • School Khana Program: Expanding from Lahore and Islamabad to Gilgit Baltistan, this program serves 60,000 meals daily.
  • Health & Nutrition Projects: Including an Anti-Stunting Program in 8 hospitals and a Clean Water Project with 39 plants focused on upgradation and maintenance.
  • Community Outreach Initiatives: Such as the Panagah Langar Khana Project in Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi; the Rashan Program (monthly food distribution); Deportees and Orphan Meal Projects; as well as specialized programs like the Hospital, Staff, and Porters Meal Projects.

The Iftar Dastarkhawan, a key highlight of the organization’s Ramadan initiatives, exemplified AWT’s core values. Bringing together diverse groups of people, the event provided a moment of reflection and gratitude. Guests gathered around a communal table where the spirit of charity and unity transcended everyday biases, creating a warm, inclusive environment.

Among the distinguished attendees was philanthropist former MPA and PPP provincial leader Sania Kamran. Known for her relentless commitment to humanitarian causes, Sania’s presence at the Dastarkhawan was a symbol of solidarity and active community participation. She shared her heartfelt thoughts on the occasion, stating, “Being part of this grand gesture was a privilege and honor.” Her words resonated deeply with the attendees, underscoring the importance of community engagement in driving positive change.

Allah Walay Trust’s initiatives go far beyond the boundaries of a single event. By continuously working on projects that range from food distribution to health and clean water provision, the organization is making a long-lasting impact on the lives of many across Pakistan. The collective effort of the trust’s team and the involvement of notable personalities like Sania Kamran reinforce the message that sustainable development and compassion can indeed transform communities.

In celebrating this monumental Iftar Dastarkhawan, Allah Walay Trust not only fed thousands but also nourished the community spirit—a testament to the power of unity, empathy, and dedicated service.
