ISLAMABAD, March 15, 2025 - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi hosted a prestigious Iftar dinner today, bringing together ambassadors from various Muslim countries in a diplomatic gathering focused on fostering unity within the Muslim world and addressing growing concerns about Islamophobia.
The event was notably attended by Acting President of Pakistan and Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, who joined on special invitation, underscoring the significance of the gathering.
Diplomatic representatives from fourteen Muslim nations were present, including ambassadors from Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Morocco, Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, and Somalia. Additionally, officials from the diplomatic missions of Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, and Libya participated in the event.
The gathering was further elevated by the presence of several high-ranking Pakistani officials, including Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Interior Advisor to the Prime Minister Pervez Khattak. National Assembly members Asma Arbab Alamgir and Sardar Fatah Allah Khan Miankhel, along with Benazir Income Support Program Chairman Rubina Khalid, also attended. Provincial Assembly members Sania Kamran, Ahmed Karim Kundi, and Arbab Zark joined the event, as did Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Provincial President of the Pakistan Peoples Party, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Muslim Unity and Countering Islamophobia

In his address, Governor Kundi emphasized the significance of the holy month of Ramadan, stating, "The month of Ramadan is the sacred month of unity, brotherhood, and peace for the Muslim Ummah. It is imperative in our times for all Muslim countries to come together and formulate a robust and comprehensive strategy to safeguard the interests of the Muslim Ummah and to counter the growing trend of Islamophobia worldwide."
He elaborated on the peaceful nature of Islam, adding, "Islam is the religion of peace and goodness, teaching the welfare of humanity and respect for all religions. We must unite in a joint effort to highlight the true essence of Islam on the global stage."
The foreign dignitaries expressed their appreciation for Pakistan's ongoing efforts to promote unity within the global Muslim community. They specifically commended Governor Kundi for his dedication to the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and his efforts toward establishing peace in the region.
The ambassadors unanimously endorsed Governor Kundi's views regarding the need for unity and expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation on these matters.
