CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Reaffirms Commitment to Interfaith Harmony 

Lahore – Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed her commitment to religious harmony, peace, and inclusivity in her message on World Interfaith Harmony Week. She emphasized that Punjab belongs to everyone, assuring all religious communities of their right to worship freely without fear or insecurity.  

“All religions teach love, peace, and tolerance, which are the foundations of a truly welfare society,” she stated, urging people to embrace respect and harmony despite differences. She highlighted Pakistan’s rich diversity, calling it a "beautiful bouquet of different religions, cultures, and traditions.”  

Protection and Welfare of Minorities  

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her administration’s dedication to safeguarding the rights of minorities in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She outlined several practical steps taken to ensure their well-being, including:  

- Quarterly financial assistance for underprivileged minority communities through the Minority Card.  

- Renovation and rehabilitation of temples, churches, and other places of worship.  

- Official recognition and celebration of minority religious festivals at the government level.  

- Significant budget increases for the welfare and uplift of minority communities.  

- Enhanced educational and employment opportunities to ensure equal participation in society.  

Call for Peace and Unity  

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif urged people to spread the message of love, brotherhood, and peace, stressing that promoting religious harmony is the key to lasting peace and development. She emphasized the need to reject extremism and build a society where all citizens, regardless of faith, enjoy equal rights and opportunities.  

Her message reinforces Punjab’s commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that religious minorities continue to thrive in an environment of mutual respect and coexistence.
