Islamabad: On the 17th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Senator Sehar Kamran, Member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, honored the legacy of the iconic leader with a heartfelt tribute. Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Senator Kamran reflected on Bhutto’s enduring impact on Pakistan and the wider Muslim world.  

 

Kamran described Bhutto as a “visionary leader” whose charisma and leadership profoundly reshaped the nation’s history. “Her unwavering courage and relentless struggle for democracy transformed our nation,” she wrote.

Highlighting Bhutto’s achievements as the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Muslim world, Senator Kamran praised her bold stance against tyranny and extremism. “She boldly stood against tyranny & extremism, inspiring generations to fight for justice,” Kamran stated.  

 

Bhutto’s twice-elected tenure as Prime Minister was marked by her dedication to empowering women and marginalized communities. Her contributions to building an egalitarian society, Kamran noted, continue to resonate in Pakistan and beyond. “Her legacy of resilience and empowerment for women and the marginalized continues to shine brightly,” she wrote.  

 

Senator Kamran emphasized that Benazir Bhutto’s spirit lives on in the millions who admired her and continue to draw inspiration from her life’s work.
