Lahore: Rickshaw drivers led by Awami Rickshaw Union President Majeed Ghauri met with Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor House Lahore. During the meeting, Awami Rickshaw Union President Majeed Ghauri announced his joining the PPP along with his colleagues. On this occasion, PPP Women Wing President Samina Khalid Gharki, senior PPP leaders Chaudhry Manzoor, Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Rana Farooq Saeed, Faisal Mir, Sufyan Khalid Gharki, Asif Hashmi, Nargis Faiz Malik, Naveed Chaudhry and others were also present.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is a party of the poor and middle class which has always spoken about the rights of the laborers. He said that the practical proof of the rapid popularity of the PPP today is a huge rally of the PPP being held in Lahore. He said that the rallies in Lahore and Gujarat show how organized the PPP is. The Governor of Punjab said that the decision of the rickshaw drivers to join the PPP is a historic one, which will make the party stronger and more stable in Lahore. He said that I salute the rickshaw drivers for joining the PPP. The Governor of Punjab said that Samina Khalid Gharki's house is the house of the PPP, you have entered Bhutto's house from this house. The Governor of Punjab said that after today, every rickshaw driver of Lahore will consider himself a governor. He said that you should be sure that even if a thorn pricks you, I will remove your pain. The Governor of Punjab said that rickshaw drivers will be given 2 Umrah tickets. He said that false FIRs against rickshaw drivers will be eliminated.

 

On this occasion, President of the PPP Women's Wing Samina Khalid Gharki said that everyone who comes to the party is welcomed on the orders of Mrs. Benazir Bhutto. She said that the joining of the Rickshaw Union Lahore in the Pakistan People's Party is commendable. Samina Khalid Gharki said that I am still standing where Khalid Gharki Sahib made me stand. President of the Awami Rickshaw Union Majeed Ghauri said that on behalf of the union, I thank Samina Khalid Gharki. He said that today I have come to Bhutto's house with Bhutto's laborer.
