Sindh’s Landmark Housing Initiative Nears Completion, Says Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
Sindh Government is also working on two complementary projects—one to equip the newly constructed houses with solar energy, and the other to provide proper wash facilities.
QAMBAR SHAHDADKOT: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that granting homeownership to over two million women in Sindh is the beginning of a quiet social revolution, whose far-reaching benefits will continue to emerge over time.
According to the press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, on Tuesday Chairman PPP visited the houses being constructed under the Sindh People’s Housing Project for flood-affected families (SPHF) in New Tharo Wadho village, Taluka Mirokhan, District Qambar Shahdadkot. On the occasion, he handed over ownership certificates to the women of these households.
Speaking to the flood-affected families, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the world’s largest free housing scheme, launched by the Sindh Government, is now rapidly nearing completion. In doing so, the Pakistan Peoples Party is fulfilling its pledge of rehabilitating the flood-affected people. He further said that his maternal grandfather, Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and his mother, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, had pledged that the Pakistan Peoples Party would provide ‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makan’ (bread, clothing, and shelter) to the people of Pakistan. Through the construction of houses for flood-affected families, the PPP-led Sindh Government is fulfilling the promise made by Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while lauding the courage and resilience of the flood-affected families during their difficult times, said that the Sindh Government’s landmark housing initiative would not have been possible without their strength and determination. He said that the Sindh Government is also working on two complementary projects—one to equip the newly constructed houses with solar energy, and the other to provide proper wash facilities.
PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Political Secretary and MPA Jameel Ahmed Soomro, MNA Mir Ejaz Khan Jakhrani, as well as other parliamentarians, local government representatives, and party office-bearers also accompanied the Party Chairman on the occasion.
