KARACHI/LAHORE :  Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the passing of Altaf Ahmad Qureshi, the party's former Central Deputy Information Secretary and Information Secretary Punjab.

 

In his condolence message, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that he shares equally in the grief of the bereaved family. He emphasized that the late Altaf Ahmad Qureshi's struggle in student politics and his services rendered to the Pakistan Peoples Party will always be remembered.

 

The PPP chairman described Altaf Qureshi as a senior journalist and an enlightened political leader who made significant contributions to the party and the field of journalism. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari prayed that Almighty Allah grant the deceased a high rank in Paradise and bestow patience upon the grieving family.

 

The funeral prayer for Pakistan Peoples Party's senior leader Altaf Ahmad Qureshi was conducted at Jamia Masjid Rabia-ul-Quran, where Qari Abdul Rahman led the prayers. The deceased was laid to rest at Miani Sahib Cemetery in the presence of hundreds of mourners.

 

A Quran recitation ceremony (Khatm-e-Quran) will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, August 29, at his residence located at 71-A Three, Johar Town, after Asr prayers.

 

 

The funeral prayer was attended by numerous prominent PPP leaders, including Chaudhry Manzoor, Chaudhry Islam Gill, Usman Malik, Naveed Chaudhry, Mian Misbah-ur-Rahman, Faisal Mir, Rana Jameel Munj, Dr. Javed Jan, Javed Akhtar, Chaudhry Riaz, Gohar Butt, Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, Tanveer Butt, Azad Butt, Haji Aziz-ur-Rahman Chan, Tariq Khurshid, Munir Ahmad Khan, Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, Farrukh Marghub Siddiqui, Khalid Butt, Sadaqat Shirwani, Naseer Ahmad, Basharat Siddiqui, Sheikh Roshan, Yasser Bara, Sheikh Irfan, Basharat Ali, Mudassar Shakir, Dr. Rizwan Bhai, Aftab Goraya, Ahmad Ghuman, Akram Kamboh, Aqib Sarwar, and Irfan Bhatti.

 

Altaf Ahmad Qureshi was not only a capable worker of the Pakistan Peoples Party but his services in the field of journalism will also be remembered. Beginning his career in student politics, he served in various important positions within the party throughout his distinguished career.

 

The passing of Altaf Ahmad Qureshi marks the loss of a dedicated party worker and journalist who contributed significantly to both political and media.
