Lahore: A prolonged technical failure in the National Savings system has left pensioners, elderly citizens, and middle-class investors in severe difficulty. Those who rely on the profit from National Savings schemes for their daily expenses are unable to access their funds, forcing them to repeatedly visit offices only to return empty-handed.

At the National Savings Center on Ghazi Road, Lahore, an elderly pensioner shared his ordeal, saying he had been visiting the office for the past three days but was still unable to withdraw his profit due to the system outage. “My family’s livelihood depends entirely on this profit. Without it, we are facing serious financial hardship,” he said with tears in his eyes.

Staff at the Ghazi Road branch confirmed that the system has been down for over a week and admitted they have no clear information on when operations will resume. The disruption has particularly hit pensioners and lower- to middle-income groups who rely on these savings for survival.

Affected citizens have urged the government and concerned authorities to take immediate action to restore the system and provide relief to those suffering.
