ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) yesterday celebrated the conferment of Nishan-e-Imtiaz award on PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari terming it a great honour.
The PPP leaders extended congratulations to Bilawal Bhutto on being conferred with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the country’s highest civilian award, in recognition of his outstanding diplomatic achievements on the global stage, particularly in defending Pakistan’s position against Indian aggression.
General Secretary PPP Parliamentarians Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari described the honour as a historic moment for the nation and the party, praising Chairman Bilawal’s successful representation of Pakistan’s case at international forums.
“On the country’s borders, the armed forces secured victories, while at the diplomatic front, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari achieved triumphs against India,” Bukhari remarked. He termed the Nishan-e-Imtiaz “a seal of authenticity on Bilawal Bhutto’s role as the effective voice of the nation internationally” and noted that this success adds to the legacy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Bukhari emphasised that the award reflects the global acceptance of Pakistan’s stance, which Bilawal successfully conveyed to world leaders and institutions. “Today is a proud day for the entire nation, and especially for the Pakistan Peoples Party,” he added.
Central Information Secretary PPP Nadeem Afzal Chan congratulated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, calling the day “a source of pride for all Pakistanis.” He said that Bilawal had vigorously defended Pakistan’s position on the international stage and demonstrated his love for the country through effective diplomacy. “Like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal has championed Pakistan’s democratic stance and inspired the youth to participate in politics,” Chan observed.
PPP Secretary General Humayun Khan called the award “a matter of national pride” and said Bilawal had wisely and courageously countered false Indian allegations at the international level. He added that the Nishan-e-Imtiaz was not only a personal achievement for Bilawal but also a testament to the nation’s trust in his leadership.

PPP Additional Secretary General Zulfiqar Ali Badr described Bilawal as “a symbol of courage, determination, and leadership for the younger generation,” stating that the award recognised the nation’s complete confidence in him.
Member National Assembly Senator Sehar Kamran hailed the award as a great honour for the party, pointing out that Bilawal received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for highlighting Pakistan’s stance globally after Indian hostilities. She said the recognition was “a double joy” as it coincided with Independence Day celebrations. “Bilawal is following in the footsteps of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and we stand with him,” she added.
Lawmaker Dr Mehrin Bhutto said Bilawal’s vigorous representation of Pakistan internationally was in line with PPP’s historic role in defending the nation’s cause. She praised his efforts in becoming “the voice of Kashmiris at the global level” and carrying forward Benazir Bhutto’s vision.
