LAHORE / KARACHI / ISLAMABAD, July 16: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by rain-related incidents in Lahore and various other parts of Punjab. He underscored the urgent need for immediate relief for the affected communities and called for prompt, unconditional support for the agricultural sector in the rain-affected regions of Punjab.
According to the press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP expressed heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in rain-related incidents across various parts of Punjab, including Lahore and Raiwind. He extended special sympathies to the bereaved family in Mureedwal, where five members of the same household tragically lost their lives due to a roof collapse. Terming these incidents deeply distressing, the Chairman prayed for strength and patience for the grieving families and for the elevation of ranks of those who passed away.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring proper medical treatment for those injured in rain-related accidents across Punjab.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the need for immediate action to drain rainwater from low-lying areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Daska, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Nankana Sahib, Minchinabad, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Arifwala, Kasur, Farooqabad, and numerous other towns and villages across Punjab. He stressed that poor citizens whose homes have been damaged and farmers whose crops have been destroyed by the rains are in urgent need of government support. He pointed out that Punjab’s agricultural sector—particularly its farmers—has been grappling with severe challenges for decades, and the recent losses must be promptly and fairly compensated.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his message to the rain-affected people of Lahore and across Punjab, assured them that the Pakistan Peoples Party stands with them in this difficult time. “We will not leave the rain victims alone,” he affirmed. “We will ensure they receive the support and relief they rightfully deserve.”
