The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has raised serious objections regarding the government's Rightsizing Committee and Privatization Committee. PPP is represented in these committees by Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, who has submitted detailed written comments on the matter.

Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed stated that past experiences of privatization have been marked by a lack of transparency and serious concerns. According to him, instead of promoting competition, privatization led to the formation of cartels, resulting in a significant rise in the prices of essential goods.

He specifically pointed to the sugar, cement, and ghee sectors, noting that after privatization, the government failed to regulate these industries or maintain any effective control. He added that institutions handed over to the private sector did not implement labor laws or the minimum wage policy, severely affecting the working class.
