Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad Proposes Key Reforms, Calls for 100% Increase in EOBI Pension

 

 

Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the development of society is not possible without providing relief to the workers. The People's Party has always taken steps to solve the problems of the workers. He was talking to Member Central Executive Committee and In-charge People's Labor Bureau Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed in a meeting with him. The President of Pakistan said that he hopes that the government will give top priority to the welfare of the working classes in the budget. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the problems of workers and government employees in the context of the upcoming federal budget. On this occasion, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed discussed the proposal to increase the salaries of government employees by at least 50 percent and demanded that all ad hoc relief be merged into basic salaries and pension reforms be abolished, the minimum monthly wage of the workers be fixed at Rs. 50,000, the pension of EOBI be increased by 100 percent, and other welfare measures for government employees and workers be made part of the budget. Chaudhry Manzoor proposed that Workers' Welfare and EOBI funds in Punjab should not be used in any other provincial project because only workers and their families have the right to these funds.
