Rubina Khalid opens BISP Tehsil office in Bhera
ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid Monday opened the Tehsil Office of BISP in Bhera.

Speaking to the participants, Senator Rubina Khalid said that the newly opened office will bring registration and payment services to eligible women to their doorsteps.
This move is in line with BISP's firm belief in ensuring that each deserving woman is helped in a dignified and transparent manner—one of the programme's highest priorities.
Senator Rubina Khalid also stressed that BISP is Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto's vision, and it was the credit of President Asif Ali Zardari that this programme was initiated.
She pointed out the distinguishing feature of BISP that acknowledges the woman as the head of the household.
Today, 10 million families are availing the programme, which is formulated to fill the gap between domestic income and necessary expenditures for low-income households.
She further stated that, on special directions from President Asif Ali Zardari, assistance was being offered to the deserving women in a transparent and dignified manner. Quoting Bibi Shaheed's renowned words, "Skill is your asset," she stated that Benazir Hunarmand Programme has been initiated to impart technical training, making families self-sufficient and giving a positive contribution to the economy of the country.
Senator Rubina Khalid explained that there is no cost for the BISP survey. People can participate by taking their national identity card, children's B-form, a recent electricity bill, and an active mobile number with them.
She also took up the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, which gives pregnant women and lactating women and children below two years nutritious food and financial support to check stunting.
Further, she added that under the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Programme, study stipends are provided to children with at least 70% school attendance. Special incentives are offered to girls to encourage female education.
Chairperson BISP reminded everybody that all official messages are only sent from number 8171. "Do not trust messages received from any other number or source," she emphasized.
She reaffirmed that corruption and anomalies shall never be accepted on any account, and severe action will be initiated on any complaint of such sort.
Earlier, while speaking at the ceremony, Nadeem Afzal Gondal Chan thanked Senator Rubina Khalid and all the members of the BISP team for opening the Tehsil Office in Bhera, which will immensely help the people.
