Lahore: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, during a meeting with a delegation of social and political figures from central Punjab districts including Faisalabad, Gujrat, and Hafizabad, emphasized that the younger generation is the nation’s most valuable asset. He stated that education, training, and active participation of the youth are essential for building a prosperous Pakistan. The delegation included former federal minister Rana Farooq Saeed Khan, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Bilal Farooq, Umar Farooq, Usama Farooq, Ali Jafar, and Hira Tanveer.  

President Zardari stressed that ensuring national progress requires unity among all federal units, promoting inter-provincial cooperation, and safeguarding public welfare. The delegation briefed the president on the challenges faced by the people of central Punjab and presented suggestions to harness the potential of the youth for national development. The president reaffirmed his commitment to equitable development across all regions, national unity, and strengthening democratic institutions as top priorities.  

Meanwhile, another delegation comprising Punjab Assembly member Inam Lalika, Chaudhry Owais, PPP leader Nawaz Ali Pirzada, Mian Aamir, OGDCL Employees Union President Zahid Bhatti, and Maira Hashmi also met with the president at the Governor House in Lahore. Discussions during the meeting focused on current socio-political issues, inter-provincial collaboration, and expanding opportunities for the youth.  

President Zardari underscored the need for all political and social forces to work collectively for Pakistan’s progress and stability. "Our shared goal must be public service and national betterment," he said. He also called for a comprehensive strategy to protect workers' rights and empower the youth. The president emphasized that strong cooperation between the federation and provinces, along with political unity, is vital for national security, requiring positive engagement at all levels.
