PPP Demands ECP Take Immediate Notice of PML-N's Electoral Rigging in PP-52
Sambrial + Lahore: The Secretary Information of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for Central Punjab has called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take immediate notice of alleged electoral rigging by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in constituency PP-52. He accused the ruling party of blatantly violating the code of conduct by announcing development projects after the election schedule was issued.
PPP leader Shahzad Saeed Cheema stated that such tactics are being used to lay the groundwork for a rigged victory for the government-backed candidate. He urged the Punjab Election Commission and its monitoring team to prevent the distribution of government incentives in the constituency. Cheema made it clear that despite these underhanded strategies, the PPP will not withdraw from the electoral race.
He further pressed the ECP to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and impartial election on polling day. The PPP's statement comes at a time when complaints of electoral manipulation have been on the rise during the ongoing campaign.
