Bilawal Bhutto Contacts PPP KP President, Condemns Violence at Peshawar Rally, and Announces Expansion of 'Save the Province Movement
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a telephonic conversation with the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha. During the call, Bilawal sought details regarding the violent incidents that occurred during the rally organized under the "Save the Province Movement" in Peshawar.
Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha informed the PPP chairman that the KP government had fired tear gas shells at peaceful protesters, prompting a strong reaction from Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He stated, "Violence against PPP’s peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable. The provincial government’s policy of direct confrontation with the public will backfire on them."
Praising the successful organization of the rally, Bilawal commended the PPP KP president and declared, "The Save the Province Movement will now expand to every street and alley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PTI’s rogue government will not be able to stop us."
The PPP chairman strongly condemned the KP government for using force against citizens protesting against corruption, lawlessness, and unemployment. He warned, "Efforts to suppress the people’s rights will fail, and the movement will gain even more momentum."
On this occasion, PPP leaders announced plans for larger protest campaigns to highlight public grievances and oppose the oppressive measures of the provincial government.
