Islamabad: First Lady and Member of National Assembly, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, issued a message on social media platform Twitter (X), highlighting the importance of the upcoming nationwide anti-polio campaign, scheduled to run from May 26 to June 1 across Pakistan.

In her message, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the campaign aims to protect 45.4 million children under the age of five from the crippling poliovirus.
“This national drive is vital to safeguarding the health of our future generations,” she stated.

She further noted that over 400,000 frontline workers will go door to door to administer polio drops, ensuring that no child is left unprotected.
“Our committed health workers are the backbone of this mission. Their efforts must be supported by the entire nation,” she added.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari appealed to parents, teachers, religious leaders, community elders, and the media to actively participate in and support the campaign.
“Be a part of this national effort and play your role in building a polio-free future for Pakistan,” she urged.

Known for her active advocacy on health issues, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari continues to carry forward the legacy of her mother, the late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was a staunch supporter of polio eradication in Pakistan.
