ISLAMABAD - Member of the National Assembly and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sehar Kamran announced a proud family achievement on social media, celebrating her daughter's successful completion of a PhD in environmental sustainability research.

Dr. Mashael Kamran has earned her doctorate from Oxford Brookes University, completing groundbreaking research titled "Environmentally Sustainable Pathways for Passenger Vehicle Fleets in the UK." Her comprehensive study examined the complex material and environmental trade-offs involved in battery reuse and shared mobility systems, contributing valuable insights to the co-evolution of transport and energy infrastructure.

The research, which focused on developing pathways toward a more sustainable transport future, represents a significant contribution to understanding how battery technology and shared transportation models can work together to reduce environmental impact. Dr. Kamran's work addressed critical questions about how passenger vehicle fleets can transition toward more environmentally responsible operations while maintaining practical viability.

Following her doctoral achievement, Dr. Kamran has secured a postdoctoral position and is now working as a Research Associate at Cambridge University, continuing her research in sustainable transportation systems.
