Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Syed Ali Qasim Gilani has completed one year of public service since his victory in the May 19, 2024, by-election, marking a transformative period for his constituency. From infrastructure upgrades to social welfare initiatives, Gilani’s tenure has been defined by inclusive development and direct engagement with constituents.

Infrastructure and Development Projects
Gilani allocated PKR 55 crore for constituency-wide development, including PKR 35 crore for road rehabilitation. A state-of-the-art sports complex, funded with PKR 16 crore, is 50% complete, while PKR 10 crore was dedicated to restoring electricity in long-neglected union councils.

In a landmark move, PKR 1 billion was approved for Multan’s IT Park, with consultations finalized between Kashmir Multan and IB Sukkur to ensure world-class standards. Key infrastructure milestones include the inauguration of the NADRA office in Muzaffarabad, funding for three bridges over Sikandar Canal, and the opening of the Railway Crossing at Naderabad Gate, addressing decades-old public demands.

Health, Education, and Social Welfare
Gilani personally led school enrollment drives, distributing free textbooks, uniforms, and upgrading facilities like Chak Mahni School. Mobile hospitals were deployed across all union councils, and a Tehsil Headquarters Hospital was announced for Saddar Tehsil.

Over 50,000 families were registered under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), while the Bait-ul-Mal program provided financial aid to the underprivileged.

Employment and Technology
Jobs were secured in Punjab and federal government departments, and two new telecom towers were approved to improve mobile connectivity. NADRA’s mobile van services were expanded to all union councils, and a new passport office in Ada Band Bosan was proposed and approved.

Public Outreach and Transparency
Gilani held open public forums (Kachehries) at his office and across the constituency to resolve grievances promptly. He personally visited union councils, releasing funds for the construction of 12 council offices. His team ensured participation in public joys and sorrows, fostering trust and accessibility.

Utilities and Environment
Seven new water filtration plants and 100 electricity transformers were installed to improve basic amenities. Key road projects, including People’s Secretariat Multan Road-Bahadurpur and Langrial Check Post to Qasim Bela Pulli Road, were inaugurated.

Gilani’s Message to the People
Reflecting on his first year, Gilani stated: “This progress was possible only with public cooperation. We prioritized equitable development, and our mission to make this constituency a national model will continue.”

Residents have hailed Gilani as a “people’s representative,” crediting his hands-on approach. With the IT Park and other mega projects nearing completion, the constituency anticipates an economic and employment boom in the coming years.
