The Government Survives Because of Our Support!" — Raja Pervez Ashraf Vows to Fight Against Electoral Rigging
Just Like Indian Arrogance, We Will Bury the Arrogance of Election Rigging in the Dust!" — Clear Message from PPP Leadership*
Sambrial/Lahore: Former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Punjab, Raja Pervez Ashraf, stated that the PPP will not allow the manipulation of "Form 47" to continue. "The government stands because of our support and votes. This country needs love and unity, not hatred," he asserted. He condemned the removal of PPP posters as against fair play and demanded transparent and peaceful elections.
Ashraf made these remarks during a joint press conference at the inauguration of the central election office of PPP candidate Raheel Kamran Cheema in PP-52 Sialkot. He was accompanied by senior party leaders, including Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Hassan Murtaza, Raheel Kamran Cheema, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, and Nadeem Asghar Kaira.
Prominent party workers and leaders such as Asif Bashir Bhagat, Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, Ali Raza Zaidi, and others were also present. Ashraf emphasized that the PPP is a party of the people, symbolizing federation and believing in social justice.
He expressed confidence in Raheel Kamran Cheema’s victory, stating, "The morning of June 1 will bring the good news of his triumph." He praised the enthusiasm of PPP workers, declaring no doubt about winning the by-election.
Ashraf highlighted the sacrifices and services of the PPP, urging voters to consider them while casting their ballots. "PPP has always stood for farmers and laborers," he said. Responding to media queries, he recalled how the PPP stood firm when India challenged Pakistan and taught the common man the lesson of dignity and survival.
He urged voters to support Raheel Kamran Cheema, as their decision would shape the constituency’s fate. He assured that all PPP leaders would remain in the constituency until Chima’s victory.
In a passionate appeal, Ashraf told party workers to attack the election campaign like "Pakistani falcons pounced on Indian jets." He reminded how India’s pride was humbled, just as electoral manipulation would be.
Responding to various media questions, he stated that every election has its dynamics, and the real contest is yet to come. "It was the PPP that gave the common man the right to vote," he added.
Former Federal Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said the PPP supports the government but will oppose any wrong decisions. "Whenever the PPP comes into power, farmers prosper," he noted.
PPP leader Ahsan Ghuman from Sambrial claimed that the party’s leadership had won the hearts of the youth in the region. "If leaders continue to support workers like this, no other place in Punjab will have such dedicated workers," he said.
