CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Zero Tolerance Vision Against Crimes & Criminals: Crime Rate Reduced by 75% in Sargodha Due to Implementation of Latest Beat System
Lahore: On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the latest Beat System has been implemented in Sargodha that has resulted in the reduction of crime rate by 75%. It has been reported,"In Sargodha district, there has been a 75% reduction in vehicle theft, 40% reduction in robbery and 42% reduction in vehicle snatching incidents. Incidents of theft of rickshaws, loaders and motorcycle have also decreased by 50%. 43 gangs have been arrested in property crime cases, and Rs 140 million have been recovered. 16% reduction in theft incidents in Sargodha city, 30% reduction in crimes committed in the dark of night, and 21% significant reduction in violent crimes has been reported." It has been observed,"Success rate against crimes like robbery/gang rape, child abduction and murder has reached 95%, while crimes against minors has been reduced by 11% due to the remarkable initiative of arresting the culprits within 24 hours." Moreover, 67% reduction in murders during robberies and 16% in overall murders has been recorded. 1442 accused have been arrested, while 02 have been brought from abroad and taken to justice. 166 kg crystal meth/ice, 30 Kg heroin, 530 kg hashish, 6480 bottles of liquor have been recovered, 661 cases have been registered, and 830 people have been arrested in crackdown on illegal weapons. District Police Officer Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said,"A significant reason for the action against criminals and reduction in crimes in Sargodha is the presence of officers round the clock under the Beat system."
